Smoky Mountains Visit

October 2012 Smoky Mountains Visit

Enjoying the views and weather of the Smoky Mountains

Here are more photographs from my vacation last year. When I look at them I can go back to a peaceful time and remember what a gorgeous place this actually is during the fall.

Abrams-Creek This is Abrams Creek, on the way to Abrams Falls.

Abrams-Falls-1Abrams Falls on the Cades Cove Loop. It is a nice long hike back to it but worth it in the long run. I saw people in their 70’s walking back to it.

Creek-FallsJust one of the many little falls you will see all over the mountains in the streams.

Old-Baptist-Church-EntranceThe entrance into the Old Baptist Church. What a lovely scene to look at every day during the fall.

HWY-441-SceneA view along Highway 441.

Laura-Falls-overall
Laura falls. It was another long hike to get back to this one. It too is a beautiful falls to see but this time of year it was not as I remembered it from back in the early to mid 90’s. Sure would love to see it without all the rude people who kept walking in front of me when I was trying to take some photographs of it.

Sinks-Bridge
The Sinks as photographed from an angle to view the other side of the bridge. The roar of the falls was deafening. Actually all the falls were loud except Cataract Falls which is close to The Sugarlands Visitor Center on Highway 441.

Sinks-Falls-SceneThis was a beautiful area to be in that day. Not to many people and was a nice day out all around.

Road-to-Cades-Cove-3 Just a few shots on the road to Cades Cove.Road-to-Cades-Coves-4Small-StreamTrail-by-Cades-Cove-3Sugarland-Visitors-Center

This is the last we saw of the Smoky Mountains as we were leaving to go back home.
Fog

Farewell to The Great Smoky Mountain National Park area. I will be seeing you again someday hopefully soon.
