VA Clinic

In West Lafayette there is a VA clinic. I go to this Clinic for my medical needs. It has been around for a long time as there is also a cemetery on the West Lafayette side. In this cemetery there are headstones that date back to Civil War Veterans all the way to the present day.

Just before you go on the winding road to go down to River Road there are a few buildings that are not being used anymore. One is the library, one a chow hall, one I have no idea what it was and then the Commandants Home. It is a huge home and I would love to get inside of it and take some HDR photographs some day.

On the side of the compound that goes down to what is called River Road. You can turn left and it will take you north or turn south it will take you back to West Lafayette. As you are starting down the road a Cannon sits right at the top of a ridge. I stopped one day and took a few photographs and ended up making it black and while and the style it is now.

On River Road where Highway 52 passes overhead, there are some drawings/graffiti on the bridge abutments. There are four abutments and so they all contain graffiti. Whoever did this is pretty good with what they do. I had passed it many times and never really paid much attention to it. One day I drove up that way just so I could photograph those abutments.

I hadn’t noticed those graffiti drawings before and I’m sure they were there for awhile. They are neat though. It goes to show you how easy it is to overlook things of beauty..
